From October 20 to 24, 2024, Dr. Maksudbek Yusupov, Head of the Laboratory “Resource-Saving Technologies” at the Institute of Fundamental and Applied Research, was on a scientific trip to Tehran (Iran) to discuss scientific cooperation with scientists from the University of Tehran. This scientific visit was carried out together with Dr. Umedjon Khalilov, the chief scientist of the Institute of Ion-Plasma and Laser Technologies of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan, and senior scientist Dilfuza Husanova.
During the trip, M. Yusupov and his colleagues visited the Physics and Chemistry faculties at the university, as well as the Zoology Museum. While visiting the College of Science, M. Yusupov and his colleagues participated in discussions about conducting collaborative research, student exchanges, obtaining dual PhD degrees, and other matters with the Vice President for Education and Graduate Studies, Head of the department Applied Chemistry, Prof. Alireza Shakeri, the Vice President for Research and Technology, Prof. Majid Soleimani, the Vice President for Student Affairs, Prof. Behnaz Bakhshandeh, and other scholars. Additionally, during their visit to the Faculty of Physics, they engaged in discussions with the head of Physics faculty, Prof. Mohammad Reza Mohammadizadeh and other professors and students. Agreements were reached regarding publishing joint articles in prestigious scientific journals indexed in Scopus and Web of Science. During their visit to the Faculty of Chemistry, M. Yusupov and his colleagues gained information about the existing experimental facilities at the faculty.
As a result of the visit, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Institute of Fundamental and Applied Research and University of Tehran to establish bilateral scientific and practical cooperation. It is noteworthy that University of Tehran ranks first among Iranian universities and publishes over 8,000 scientific articles in international reputable journals annually.
